Creative & Performing Arts

Creative Arts and Technology for the 21st Century

At Laude International College, all students are encouraged to join in Food Technology, Music, Dance, Drama and the Arts. All gain confidence as they explore different areas of self-expression and some discover unsuspected talents. This may lead some to follow academic courses to GCSE and A Level. However, all pupils are able to enjoy these subjects as extra-curricular optios and creative performance is open to everyone. A number of students go on to study the arts at university .

Creative Carousel

The Creative Arts and Technology Carousel gives Secondary School student in years 7-9, a unique opportunity to experience Drama, Music, Food Technology and Digital Photography. The students study each subject for 7-8 weeks with a final option to choose their favourite subject during the summer term.

Art and Design

The Art Department occupies light and spacious accommodation in which students learn the techniques of drawing and painting as well as other skills including relief printing, the principles of ceramics and other forms of artistic expression.  Art is a part of the curriculum for all children up to Year 9.  Thereafter, it is a popular GCSE option and A-level.

At GCSE the students are taught skills, methods and processes, and at A-level they begin to explore their own creative instincts whilst developing advanced skills.  They are introduced to both contemporary and renowned great artists whose work is used to inspire students’ ideas and ambitions.

Music

The music department is vibrant ad gives pupils the opportunity to develop practical and technological skills. We have dynamic school choir who have written and performed the Laude school song.

In addition, the school choir regularly performs in school and external events.

Danzart

The school has an amazing Danzart programme which helps students to explore different dance styles, taking in global influences so that all students can excel. The students perform throughout the year at school events and, in addition, are regularly booked to appear at local charitable events. The dance team is launching the first inter-school dance competition in December 2019.
