Benahavis Painting Competition

8th February 17

Two of Laude’s Yr 9 pupils were selected as winners of the Benahavis Fine Art Societies Painting Competition. This is an annual event in which International Schools in the area are invited to submit 9 entries from KS3 pupils to advertise the Societies forthcoming lectures. The themes the pupils worked from were ‘Banksy and StreetArt’, and ‘Charles Rennie Mackintosh’. The students produced a fantastic body of work and it was a difficult choice to select only 9 from the many entries. Many congratulations to our 2 prize-winners;  Roberto Martin Van Hanxleden for his textured, Banksy inspired work entitled ‘Verbal Abuse’, awarded 3rd prize and for the delicate Watercolour created by Marina Gallego González on the theme of Charles Rennie Mackintosh. An additional category was included for Marina’s work because the judges were so impressed by the quality of her work.
