Laude Student Wins Poetry Competition

11th March 15

The writing talents of the students at Laude San Pedro have outshone the other schools on the coast in this year’s Sur in English Poetry Competition. Ana Maria Muñoz El Haj’s contribution ‘Remember?’ was chosen as the winning poem by the judges who described it as “touching because of its sequence of shared places over time and its reflection in a kind of album of transcended moments”. Ana Maria’s English teacher, Ms Griffin, said she was “immensely proud of her achievement.”

The annual competition allows schools to showcase the work of their students. The newspaper also selected two other poems from Laude’s students for publication in their educational supplement: ‘Untitled’ by Alena Selivanova and ‘What is love?’ by Natalia Mirón Gracia. Congratulations to all of the students involved and to Ms Griffin, as well as to the rest of the English Department for their inspirational work!
